We've been really busy over the past few months, so before the year ends, we would like to share with you some of the exciting developments at Happilyraw.

We have been out and about with Happilyraw at many events, helping to encourage and inspire even more people. There's so many more new products now on the site ... and we have even more events and new products already planned for the next year ...

Where have we been…?

As well as expanding Happilyraw online, over the past few months we have taken Happilyraw to evenings, events and conferences. We've been to Weston-Super-Mare, Glastonbury, the Truth Matters Conference in Buxton and more recently, at the Broadstone Clinic in Dorset. We always receive so much warmth and enthusiasm at these events and we are so grateful for such positive feedback and words of encouragement. As well as connecting with people that we can support in person, we are very excited to welcome even more customers to Happilyraw online.

In November, Karen Knowler held 'A Weekend in the Raw' in London. With 150 people attending, it was great to have our Happilyraw flyers included in each and every delegate goody bag as well as offering a Happily Smoothie Making Pack as one of the raffle prizes. Many thanks to Karen and her team for giving us this opporunity.


Christmas Opening Hours...

We welcome your orders over the Christmas and New Year period, however we will not be dispatching any orders between Wednesday 22nd December and Monday 3rd January, inclusive. You can simply place your order as usual during this time and we will dispatch to you as soon as possible in the New Year.

Our last posting date before Christmas is Tuesday 21st December which is the last posting date recommended by Royal Mail for UK customers. For orders to Europe, Monday 13th December is the final recommended posting date. However, we cannot guarantee that orders dispatched by these dates will arrive in time for Christmas, especially given the recent bad weather conditons, so we would like to advise everyone to place your orders as soon as possible if you would like them to arrive before Christmas.

New products...

We've continued to add new products to the site. As you would have read in our previous bulletin, you can now buy the 454g (1lb) bags of selected Mushroom Powders. Many thanks to all of you who purchased some ... they are on the way.

We now have Organic Coconut Flour, which can be used for making delicious recipes and a great alternative to using wheat and grain flours; and Himalayan Rose Pink Crystal Salt with its distinct rose pink colour due to the high mineral content of iron, potassium and magnesium, all vital for good health.

Vitamin C Magnesium Ascorbate Powder provides a readily absorbable form of vitamin C and magnesium, free from additives, solvents and excipients; Nascent Iodine is a consumable iodine, readily absorbable by the body. We now have 500g bags of MSM Powder and L-Lysine in powder form.

Spotlight on Nuts & Sprouting Seeds & Beans

We are now offering a fantastic range of carefully selected organic nuts, seeds and beans which compliment a natural and healthy, wholefood diet as they are all excellent sources of digestible protein, dietary fibre, minerals, vitamins and the essential fatty acids (EFA's), omegas 3, 6 and 9.

Almonds, Cashews, Brazils and Walnuts can all be integrated into sweet or savoury dishes. Simply sprinkle them over meals such as breakfasts, salads or vegetables, or eat them as a healthy snack. However, have you ever tried making nut milk? It is so easy and can open up a whole new world of tasty delights. Simply add one cup of nuts with two or three cups of water to a blender. Blend thoroughly, then strain through a nut bag to produce creamy, healthy nut milk. You can make delicious milk drinks or powerpacked smoothies by adding a range of superfoods such as acai berry, camu camu, mesquite, maca and cacao powders, Manuka honey and herb powders too. Sprouting seeds and beans are the most nutritious vegetables in the world and can be grown all year round. Sprouting your own seeds and beans will produce small but highly nutritious green shoots and leaves which are a great addition to any meal. They are rich in naturally occuring enzymes which help with the easy digestion and use of nutrients by the body. They are also rich in a wide variety of minerals such as calcium, iron and zinc; vitamin E and many of the B-vitamins. The Salad Sprouter (Plastic Tray) provides the complete kit necessary for sprouting your own seeds and beans at home on your windowsill in the kitchen. At Happilyraw, we love to make tasty, nutritious dips using pumpkin, sunflower and sesame seeds. Use a seed grinder to turn your seeds into a fine powder and then in a bowl, mix with the juice of a freshly squeezed lemon, a drop of aloe vera juice, flax or hemp oil, a pinch of sea salt and a teaspoon of your favourite supergreen powders. Then simply drizzle over your meal or make a thicker dip for crunchy carrot or cucumber sticks. Although not called a 'seed grinder', we can highly recommend the Krups Twin Blade Coffee Mill which we have been using for years to grind up our seeds (available at the bottom of our Books page).

What's been happening at Happilyraw?

In early September, we held our first 'Evening with Happilyraw' down in Devon. It was an inspirational and fun evening, to meet with people and share education with those attending on how to discover easy ways to nourish the body, learning about natural lifestyle choices and how to add more varied and tasty nutrition to your diet. We enjoyed tasters of smoothies, raw chocolate and herbal teas together. Reishi Mushrooms...

The Reishi Mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum), which grows in damp, dark forests, is one of the most revered herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine. At one time, this mushroom was only used by the ruling classes, but today it is cultivated all over the world for everyone to enjoy.

Chaga Mushrooms...

The Chaga Mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) grows predominantly on the side of the Birch tree and looks like the burnt remains of charred wood. Chaga Mushrooms have been part of folk medicine for many centuries across North America, Russia China and parts of Eastern Europe, being widespread across Poland. It is also known as Cinder Conk or Birch Mushroom.

Lion's Mane Mushrooms...

The Lion's Mane Mushroom (Hericium erinaceus) is also known as the Hedgehog Mushroom or Pom Pom Mushroom and grows amongst temperate forests across the northern hemisphere. The reasons for the wide variety of names are easier to understand when you see this mushroom growing in the wild. The North American variety grows in a single clump of long, cascading tendrils which resemble the flowing mane of a lion or large pom poms.

Cordyceps Mushrooms...

The Cordyceps Mushroom (Cordyceps sinensis) is also known as the Caterpillar Fungus and grows mainly in Tibet and across the Himalayan regions of India, Nepal and Bhutan. It has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine since the 17th century.

Turkey Tail Mushrooms...

The Turkey Tail Mushroom (Coriolus versicolor) grows in woodlands throughout the world and can be found in a wide variety of colours, hence the species name, 'versicolor' which means 'several colours'. It is commonly called the 'Turkey Tail' mushroom in the USA because of its resemblance to the tail of a wild turkey. It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for many years where it is known as Yun zhi.

All these mushrooms powders are products of the USA where they have been certified organic by the United States Agricultural Department (USDA) and/or the Ohio Ecological Food & Farm Association (OEFFA). However, in the UK, we cannot make claims that these are organic products.

We can, however, state that the mushrooms used for these powders have been grown pesticide free and do not contain and excipients, granulating agents, fillers, preservatives or other agents.
